Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has been a reporter for more than 45 years, focusing on people suffering from war zones and natural disasters. Curry was a reporter for the wars in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19, 1956 in Agana) is an American anchor, reporter on television as well as a journalist. Her most renowned work was for her work as a reporter on the Today Show, a morning newscast produced by the National Broadcasting Co. Curry was renowned for her coverage of humanitarian crises in war-torn countries as well as on natural catastrophes. Curry's mother is Japanese and her father is an US Navy Sargent. After World War II, her parents met during her father's service in Japan. Due to her father's military service, the family relocated often. Curry completed her high schooling at Ashland Oregon. After graduating from University of Oregon, Curry obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism degree in 1978. As an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon she began her career in broadcasting. She became the first female anchor at the station, when she was 22. Then, she stepped onto becoming an anchor and reporter at KGW KGW, which was the NBC affiliate station located in Portland. Four years later she moved into Los Angeles as a reporter for the KCBS-TV. She was awarded the award of two Emmy Awards during the six years she spent with this station.
